Col Bill Morrow (USAF, Ret.) Joins Smartronix as Vice
President
Hollywood, MD – 01 April 2011 – Smartronix is pleased to
announce that Bill
Morrow has joined the company as Vice President, Cyber Security. Based out of
Smartronix’ San Antonio, Texas office, Bill will have responsibility for leading
Smartronix' cyber security strategy.
Prior to joining Smartronix, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years and
most recently served as the Vice Wing Commander of the 688th Information
Operations Wing at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. In this position, he led
1,350 professionals across six bases in developing, testing, training, and
exercising cyberspace tactics, techniques, and procedures; analyzing and
mitigating cyberspace vulnerabilities; and engineering and integrating resilient
cyberspace infrastructure (deployed and in-garrison) designed to increase the
combat effectiveness of Air Force and Department of Defense elements.
Bill retired as a Colonel after serving in numerous leadership positions at the
squadron, group, wing, numbered Air Force, major command, joint/combined, and
Joint Chiefs of Staff level. Specifically, he served as Deputy Director for
Communications and Information and Deputy CIO at Headquarters Air Force Space
Command; and Vice Commander of the 623rd Air and Space Operations Center at Air
Force Special Operations Command.
His areas of expertise are information and cyber security, strategic planning,
and networks and telecommunications. Bill earned an M.S. degree from the
Industrial College of the Armed Forces, an M.A. degree from Webster University,
and a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina. He also is a graduate
of the Air War College and the Army Command and General Staff College. Bill
recently was elected and serves as the President and Chairman of the Board for
the greater San Antonio and Austin AFCEA – Alamo Chapter.
