Smartronix Breaks Ground on New Corporate Campus
Hollywood, Maryland - 7 August
2007 –
Smartronix officially celebrated groundbreaking for the
company’s future corporate campus, which will be located on
approximately 15 acres a few miles from the current corporate
headquarters in California, Maryland.
For now, said M. Arshed Javaid, president and co-founder, the
company is building a 50,000-square-foot facility on the
Hollywood property that will include engineering and
manufacturing space, a shipping and receiving area and a machine
shop in the basement level; as well as offices for the corporate
staff. The 15 acre Smartronix site has the capability of hosting
two more facilities.
"Smartronix has simply outgrown the current location," said
Alan Parris, co-founder and vice president of Smartronix’
engineering operation, and is building the new facility to meet
the needs of the growing workload.
In the area immediately surrounding the current corporate
headquarters, Smartronix has 110 employees who work either at
the corporate office, at Patuxent River Naval Air Station or at
Webster Field.
