Smartronix Congratulates Recovery Board on Winning Government Mobile App of the Year
Reston, VA – 10
February 2012 – Smartronix is pleased to congratulate
the Recovery Board for winning the Government Mobile App of the
Year at GTRA's (GOVTek Executive Government Technology Awards)
gala held on 2 February 2012. As prime contractor, Smartronix
supported the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
of the mobile application as part of the Recovery.gov 2.0
contract. The application was developed in partnership with
Esri, a California-based company that develops geographic
information system (GIS) software.
The Recovery.gov Mobile App provides easy access to the projects
funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
With this application, users can see where and how Recovery
funds are being spent. To see projects across the country or in
a specific neighborhood, users simply enter a city and state to
retrieve results. In addition, users can report suspected fraud,
waste, or abuse related to Recovery funding. The Recovery.gov
Mobile App allows users to instantly access Recovery Act awards
information on their iPhones and iPads.
"Clearly, mobile apps are the future and it is satisfying
to see the Recovery Mobile App receive the GOVTek award in face
of some stiff competition," said Gaurav "GP" Pal,
Program Manager and Director of Systems Engineering."
Recovery.gov's flexible architecture and the elasticity of the
Akamai and Amazon cloud platform allowed us to quickly integrate
the mobile app in support of the Recovery Board's transparency
and accountability mission."
As the prime contractor on Recovery.gov 2.0, Smartronix
assembled a skilled team of partners that have supported the
Recovery Board's transparency and accountability mission.
Working closely with the Recovery Board, Team Smartronix
continues to provide technology leadership in the area of cloud
computing, mobile solutions, data analytics, and user-oriented
creative design services. Team Smartronix is comprised of
Synteractive, TMP Government, and KPMG, with best of breed
technologies from industry-leading vendors like Akamai, Amazon
Web Services, Esri, Microsoft, and SAP Business Objects.
"I am very happy that the Recovery mobile app received this
honor in support of the Recovery Board's mission to ensure
transparency and accountability in ARRA 2009 funds," said
Joe Gerczak, Executive VP and CFO. "We continue to support
the mission of our Federal clients by delivering innovative
cloud computing and mobility solutions, including mobile apps
and secure virtual desktops (VDI) amongst others."
