Smartronix Program Manager Named One of the Year's Rising Stars by Federal Computer Week

Reston, VA – 12 August 2011 – Smartronix' Recovery Director, Gaurav "GP" Pal, was named one of this year's Rising Stars by Federal Computer Week (FCW) and its affiliate publications Government Computer News (GCN) and Washington Technology. GP joins an elite group of top information technology (IT) professionals from Government, industry, and academia who have made an early — and substantive — mark in the Government IT community. "I am honored by this award," said GP. "This would not have been possible without the phenomenal work by each and every member of the 2.0 team."

The FCW Rising Stars program is an opportunity for agencies and contractors to spotlight some extraordinary achievements—both as a reward to the people and as an example to others. This year's winners from Government and industry were selected from more than 125 nominations submitted by their supervisors and coworkers. An independent panel of judges from the Government IT community selected the 25 finalists, including 18 people from Government, six from industry, and one from academia.

"I am very excited for GP to be recognized for his work in support of our 2.0 program," said Joe Gerczak, Executive VP and CFO. "GP displayed a personal commitment to supporting the transparency mission; he embodies the Smartronix spirit of assuring each mission of our Federal IT clients is achieved by delivering secure and reliable cutting-edge solutions in the Fraud & Waste, Open Government, Mobile, and Cloud computing space." GP will be featured in print and online editions of FCW in October and will be recognized at the GCN Awards Gala on October 19.
