Smartronix Helping Harvest for the Hungry

California, Maryland - 15 January 2009 - Smartronix employees stepped in to help Harvest for the Hungry and support the Leonardtown High School Student Council Association which has participated in the program since 2001. Harvest for the Hungry is a supplier of Maryland Food Banks, which provides food across the state of Maryland, wherever the need is the greatest. Since it was founded in 1979, Maryland Food Banks have provided over 13.6 million pounds of food each year. This year, the need is the largest in their history.

Smartronix President, Arshed Javaid, offered a challenge to match employee donations. "This is a way to endorse awareness and involvement in our community’s needs, while fostering a friendly challenge that is in direct alignment with our company’s community goals" said Javaid.
