Smartronix Awarded Subcontract to Support USSOCOM Distributed Computing Management Support Contract

Stafford, VA – 15 June 2011 – Smartronix announces that L-3 STRATIS has awarded Smartronix a subcontract to support the four-year $85M USSOCOM Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contracts (SITEC) Distributed Computing management contract.

USSOCOM requires the services of a highly qualified IT distributed computing service provider with the skills and experience to provide enterprise-wide distributed computing support for provisioning, operating, administering, troubleshooting, repairing, and managing all aspects of USSOCOM's enterprise-wide end-user distributed computing infrastructure and software.

The USSOCOM Enterprise and Component Command servers and storage include all development, test, and production application servers. Also included are Web portal, database, middleware, Internet/intranet, e-mail/collaboration, DNS, proxy, and file/print servers; SAN storage arrays, Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, other data storage systems; all server and storage related information assurance activities; and all hardware and software tools and utilities used to manage the data center resources and other technology.

The USSOCOM Enterprise and Component Command distributed computing environment includes all desktop/tower and laptop computers, thin client terminals, peripheral devices (network-attached and locally attached printers, scanning devices, facsimile machines), black and red desktop telephone equipment, administrator answering system consoles, and audio teleconferencing and video teleconferencing systems (ATC and VTC) and all associated operating system software. This environment also includes office productivity software, desktop/laptop image management equipment and software, diagnostics and testing tools, repair tools, remote control take-over, automated software update tools, all distributed computing-related information assurance activities, all hardware and software tools and utilities used to manage the distributed computing resources, and other distributed computing technology that may be deployed in the future.
