Smartronix Awarded FAA National Airspace System Modernization Program in Alaska
Chantilly, Virginia – 23 September
2008 – Smartronix was awarded an 18 month contract to
support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Alaska
Enterprise Network LAN Restructuring program. This effort will
encompass a host of activities necessary to ensure the security and
integrity of the National Airspace System within the Alaska Region.
Under this contract, Smartronix will provide program management,
network analysis, network design, infrastructure analysis,
infrastructure design, network deployment services, hardware
installation services and information assurance support.
Additionally, the Smartronix Team will provide modernization and
standardization of the National Airspace System and Airspace Mission
Support local area networks.
When asked about the award, EVP Joe Gerczak, stated "Support for
this contract, which represents a continuation of enterprise
operational service initiatives, will be managed by the company’s
Federal Civilian Programs Group based in Chantilly, Virginia which
is positioned to support the FAA mission agency-wide."
