Smartronix Announces Departure of Executive Vice President LtGen Robert
"Bob" Shea, Ret.
Hollywood, Maryland - 25 June 2014 – Smartronix, a leading
information technology and engineering solutions provider, today
announced the resignation of Executive Vice President LtGen
Robert "Bob" Shea, Ret., who is transitioning from the
company to become the President and Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics
Association (AFCEA).
Shea joined Smartronix as a Consulting Strategic Advisor in 2006,
shortly after retiring as the Director, Command, Control,
Communications and Computer Systems (C4 Systems) for the Joint
Staff. In 2007, Shea joined the company full time as
Executive Vice President.
"Bob had an immediate and lasting impact on
Smartronix," said John Parris, Smartronix CEO.
"It’s not every day that a person of Bob’s stature joins a
mid-sized company, and we are honored that Bob chose
Smartronix. He has been a tremendous leader for our
company and an invaluable mentor for me. Bob and I have
had many discussions on the state of Government and industry
relations and it is a consolation knowing that his experiences,
talents, and connectivity will be leveraged by such an esteemed
organization. Smartronix’ loss is the greater industry’s
gain. I wish Bob the best and look forward to working with
him as an AFCEA member."
Shea commented "Smartronix is a great company. You
couldn't find a company more committed to its incredibly
talented work force. That was obvious to me from day one
and a major factor for choosing to work there. I have no
doubt Smartronix will continue to succeed in the future, and
that provided comfort in my decision to accept the AFCEA
leadership position."
