Robert "Bob" Shea has joined the company as an Executive Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Solutions

California, MD – 24 September 2007 – Smartronix, Inc. today announced that Robert "Bob" Shea has joined the company as an Executive Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Solutions.

In this role, Shea will have responsibility for leading Smartronix’ strategy as it relates to company positioning within its targeted markets. He will also have oversight and leadership responsibility for the continued development and provision of the company’s technology solutions.

Prior to joining Smartronix, Shea served as Director, Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems (C4 Systems), The Joint Staff. In this role he was the principal advisor to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff on all C4 Systems matters within the Department of Defense. His command positions included Commander of the Marine Component to the Joint Task Force Computer Network Defense, Director of the Marine Corps Command and Control Systems School, and as Commanding Officer, 9th Communications Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. His United States Marine Corps service spanned 36 years.

Shea’s service awards include: Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Department of Defense Superior Service Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, Legion of Merit with gold star, Department of Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal with two gold stars.

Shea earned an M.A. from Central Michigan University. He also attended The Basic School, Advanced Communications Officers' Course, the Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University.
