Former MCNOSC and Deputy Program Manager and Technical Director - Col Rob Baker joins Smartronix

Quantico, Virgina - 29 January 2007 – Smartronix is pleased to announce the addition of Rob Baker as Director of Strategic Enterprise Initiatives. In this role, Rob will direct the growth and development of large information technology enterprise opportunities while serving as a resource for senior technical leadership across all Smartronix business units. Rob was previously Deputy Program Manager and Technical Director for the $9.3B Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) Program and was the first Commanding Officer of the Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Command (MCNOSC). Rob, who recently retired from the Marine Corps, has twenty-nine years of experience as a telecommunication and information systems officer and has led innovation in network management and network security solutions for the Marine Corps and Navy during the past decade. In his former role as Commanding Officer of the MCNOSC, Baker pioneered the development of enterprise storage, secure wireless, anti-spam, network security, reliable messaging, and collaboration solutions for the Marine Corps Enterprise Network, and was recognized in 2005 by Federal Computer Week for his vision and innovation in the Federal IT community. Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Arts in International Studies.
