Smartronix wins BPA Contract Award from Department of The Treasury for Public Cloud Webhosting Services

Reston, Virginia – 29 March 2013 - Smartronix wins BPA Contract Award from Department of The Treasury for Public Cloud Webhosting Services

Smartronix announced today that it received a contract award for a Blanket Purchase Order (BPA) and an initial task order from the Department of the Treasury for the continuation and expansion of the Treasury Community Cloud Webhosting solution. The BPA represents a flexible, scalable vehicle that will enable the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) to provide a wide array of Web services across the entire Department of the Treasury consisting of the main Treasury and its Bureaus.

This award will extend the work Smartronix began in 2010 on the refresh of the Treasury.gov Website and migration to a Microsoft SharePoint platform running on the Amazon Web Services AWS Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). To meet the expanded requirements of the Department of the Treasury, Smartronix established a team featuring best-in-class organizations, including AWS, Microsoft, Synteractive, CoreSphere, and TMP Government. This team has an exceptional track record of delivering world-class cloud solutions to Federal customers, facilitating shared services enablement and demonstrating service delivery excellence.

Under this award, Smartronix will continue to provide the Department of the Treasury with secure, scalable, and managed Webhosting services, including cloud hosting, content delivery, content management, and security and service desk support in a FISMA moderate compliant environment. We also will facilitate the ability to extend these services to a cadre of the Department’s customers and other agencies, significantly expanding its portfolio of Web properties running in the cloud. As a Government-wide shared services provider, Treasury will be able to contractually onboard new Web properties into their community cloud offering, thereby reducing costs and streamlining the procurement of cloud services.

"We are proud to be selected to continue our work providing a secure, scalable cloud solution for the Department of the Treasury’s public facing Websites," states Joseph Gerczak, Smartronix Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. "We embrace the opportunity to help Treasury gain economies of scale utilizing the public cloud to deliver efficient shared services that will ultimately reduce cost of Government to the taxpayer."
